GM responded with wanting us to pay half of $1376. Dashboard definitely defective.

One day the dashboard just started shaking and cracking. Eventually there was a large crack in the dashboard. The vehicle had not been in any collisions. While at the dealership for another problem with the Suburban, I happened to mention the crack in the dashboard and a GM representative was there. I was able to get it replaced at a discounted rate. Apparently, they know about the cracking dashboard problem.

It'a absolutely horrible that GM will not replace my dashboard. The car is barely 4 years old. When you pay that much for a car you expect it to last.

Suburban LTZ 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I have been buying either a Yukon or a Suburban every 3 years for the last 15 years. My 2008 LTZ Suburban has by far been the worst. My reason for this complaint is , 2 weeks ago I get in the car and notice a 6 inch crack in the dash right above the instrument panel. I take great care for my cars and service them through the dealership. I park in a garage at night and my work has underground parking , so i dont really want to hear about sun damage. Anyway - delaer wants $1100.00 to replace and i'm looking to see if anyone has had any success getting GM to pony up to their problem. My suburban is 2 1/2 years old with 80,000 miles , but what do miles have to do with a cracked dashboard ??? Give me some guidance !
