CarComplaints.com Notes: The Trailblazer emerged from an "upscale trim line" of the Blazer, but there's nothing upscale about its transmission problems or its wonky, unpredictable headlights.

Trailblazer 4WD 6-cyl

Normal usage of front seat passenger seat belt. While using the belt in a normal way, the retractors will lock in a retracting mode and will not allow any movement of the passenger. Belt must be released, fully retracted and re attached for a comfortable ride. Trips to the dealer and hearing about "the design of the belt to do this when fully extended" have not prevented the recurrence of this scenario. It cannot be demonstrated on demand and because of that the dealer stated he cannot look into something he cannot witness. The problem is infrequent but does happen non-the-less.

Dont know where to start. Squeaking noise when going over bumps (sounds like it is coming from suspension). Metal grinding noise in brakes, ticking noise from engine, seat belt and airbag lights have come on for no reason, rear latch has come open while driving, tail lights and brake lights burning out freqently, transmission was slipping on take off, no cause found in the several times it has been taken in for this. Now my transmission is out. Just happened yesturday. Don't feel like I can blame the dealership after reading all the complaints. I think the fault lies on the shoulders of GM.

Consumer states passenger's side seat belt fits too tightly, passenger unable to move. Dealer replaced seat, but problem was not resolved. Dealer brought in a 2003 Trailblazer. The seat belts did the same thing. The height of the seat belt isn't adjustable and cuts across your throat, depending on you size (driver and passenger side). Consumer had to purchase special seat belt adjusters to make the belts wearable and more importantly-safe. Consumer had recently discovered the tightness of the rear seat belts.
