Bought used about 5 years ago. The vehicle was great up until about a year ago when ignition switches started failing about every 6 months. Thankfully they are limited lifetime warranty so I think I only paid for one. The passenger side headlight kept failing and I finally found that the connector on the end of the pigtail was all burned and blackened. I snipped it off and replaced with a higher quality connector. Since then have had no problems with headlights. Now the vehicle started exhibiting signs that the ignition switch was failing again, so I got my usual warranty ignition switch and installed. Issue continued. Battery is draining rapidly and a buzzing noise is heard in the steering column around the ignition switch location when turning the key to start. Had the battery, starter, and alternator tested. All come back good. Taking to a dealer tonight.

Well I love driving the car, however; the speedometer and rpm gauges are out of control and dealers don't cover it under the warrenty. Does any one have any help.

PURCHASED MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER NEW,HAD IT ABOUT 6 MONTHS,HEATER QUIT RUNNING,TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP,THEY CLAIMED THEY FIXED IT, ABOUT A WEEK LATER I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK,,THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE HEATER SWITCH,THE STARTED HAVING PROPLEMS WITH GAUGES FLUCTUALTING,HEADLIGHTS GOING OFF AND ON SPEED ODM,OFF GOING ABT 70,ODM,READS 110,TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP,THEY ORDER A CLUSTER FOR IT,REPLACED IT...AFTER THAT MY BROTHER REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH.AND MY GAS GAUGE IS WAY OFF.

HAD IT 6 YRS,ALL THIS IS HAPPENING AGAIN.....I AGREE WITH EVERYONE ELSE,THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS VECHICLE,MY FRIEND,MY SISTER ALSO HAD SAME MODEL,AND HAD SAME PROBLEMS WITH THEIRS,MY SISTER CALLED GMC,THEY WOULDN' T EVEN LISTEN TO HER,SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT....THERE SHOULD BE A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM.FOR THESE PROBLEMS,KNOWING ABOUT THEM AND IGNORING THEM.ALSO HAD TALKED WITH OTHERS THAT HAVE TRAILBLAZERS,AND SOME THAT HAVE CHEVY TRUCKS 200E AND UP...ALL HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEMS,LIKE ME THEY COVER THE PROBLEM WHILE YOU ARE UNDER WARRENTY......AFTER THAT YOU PAY OUT THE A..NO MORE GMC FOR ME...

Trailblazer 4.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,000 miles

I have had trouble with my 2004 trailblazer from the time it was a year old and ever since with the eledtrical system warranty and extended warranty replaced 3 ignition switches, relay fuse box had shortage, system was not grounded, replaced battery 3 times, each time the dealer said they had found the problem and had corrected it,it now has 128000 miles and when the outside temperature gets above 85 degrees the A/C Blower will not run and the check engine light comes on, now a new problem either will not start or engine under power light on and 1500 RPM is max keep turning switch on and off and seems to reset and will run but Check engine light remains on. Seems EVERY July or August it develops a problem.

I had just traded in my van and was driving this car home. I stopped at a light and all the interior lights came on suddenly (like something from Close Encounters). A little later my daughter got stuck in the backseat because the locks didn't work. The next day the car wouldn't start! The dealership had to come tow it - and they didn't provide a rental or replacement! Carfax didn't show any major problems when I bought the car. What the hell?! I bought it on Tuesday, it was towed on Wednesday, today is Saturday and I won't have a car or rental until at least Monday! GRRR!!!
