"takata recall" while driving on I70 South in the fast lane my 2009 Chevy Traverse started to loose power, lights started flickering, and then ultimately stopped as I was partially in the roadway. State patrol had to come out and move the vehicle and assure my safety of exiting on this very dark interstate. The vehicle would not even start up again. And this was three days following a tune-up w/6 new coil packs, oil change w/filter and flow vent. And all this cost almost $600 bucks because coils are nearly $45 per coil. And all this had to happen because of a constant misfire in all of my cylinders. So I had the truck towed 48 miles home and then 16 miles to the dealer just to be told that this truck has a timing chain recall that was never done. So I was told by the dealership to call che Y corporate office. Lol. Chevrolet told me that the the recall expired and that I would have to pay for the timing chain myself. After 2 years of constant spending. Im done and have been advised to sue. The trooper called to follow up with me because I did almost die on the interstate because my vehicle went completely out and 18 wheelers were going extremely fast. And he provided me with a complete police report to go after Chevy. My two kids now hate the vehicle. My daughter cried all through the 4th of July because of the trauma. And Chevy should not be allowed to sell family vehicles without having a families safety in mind. This was my first Chevy purchase and it will be my last. This is not a company I wish to support. Because it could careless about our lives and safety. I refuse to pay another 2K to repair an issue that had a recall that I didnt know about. #2ndownersclub

The contact owned a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that various warning indicators illuminated. In addition, the warning indicators for the air bags, service engine, and low beam headlights shorted several times. The contact smelled a burning odor near the front of the vehicle several times. The vehicle was repaired several times by the dealer, but the failure recurred. While driving at an unknown speed, a deer crossed the vehicle's path and crashed into the front of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The driver sustained minor bruising, but did not require medical treatment. A police report was not filed. The manufacturer provided no solution and the vehicle was traded in for a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.

The 2009 Chevy Traverse, while my wife and son were driving at night, both headlights stopped working at the same time. Brought vehicle to dealer, due to design- unable to replace bulb yourself, dealer- drivers village replaced both bulbs. On 11/17/14 the left headlight bulb stopped working. Took to jack mcnerney Chevy and replaced bulb. Two days later left bulb stopped working again, took back to dealer and replaced free of charge. On 12/4/14 the right headlight stopped working and took vehicle to drivers village and they replaced the bulb. There is an obvious defect/ design flaw in the head lamp system of this vehicle. $300 dollars spent to replace headlamps. Please look into this problem, I see a lot of complaints. Thank you.

I took it in because the A/C stop working and they founded the leaked. Also mentioned a recalled but didn't list on my receipt. My low beam headlights burned out too. I think there is an electrical problem but the dealer won't admit. Claimed repairs are normal wear and tear. I wish they had told me this before I bought this car brand new.

My daughter had to be rushed to hospital in an ambulance. My other daughter and myself got in our 2009 Chevrolet Traverse and went to follow it. I turned on the car and had both low beam headlights fail. So there we were following the ambulance holding the highbeam switch on so that we could follow it and blinding everyone in our path. I brought it in to barton birks Chevrolet in newburgh NY and they said both bulbs burned out at the exact same time. Strange and did not think anything about it until I read about the recall on GMC acadia's and Saturn outlooks. As both of these share many of the same parts as my Traverse I thought you might want to look into this as well. Thank you.
