2014 May: Received GMC Safety Bulletin re: Driver and Passenger Side Impact Airbag (SIAB) Wiring Harness. 2014 Aug: Dealer apparently spliced and soldered wires together, according to GMC instructions - no charge. 2015 May: Service Airbag message: Dealer removed passenger seat and rewired; code could NOT be cleared because HIGH RESISTANCE in connector wire; Service Airbag message gone - no charge. 2015 Jul: Service Airbag message: Dealer lengthened harness and cleared codes - no charge.
This is my wife's SUV. She started ignoring the Service Airbag message because it was coming ON and going OFF intermittently and sporadically. I noticed the message every so often when I drove it. When I brought it to Dealer they couldn't find it because they said there was no message.
2018 Jan: started bringing SUV to another shop; they also couldn't find it because no Service Airbag message was displaying while they had it. Now, I am being charged for finding this mystery!
2018 Apr: Shop determined high resistance code was in wire to passenger seat; the other side of wire was okay. Solution: replace passenger seat!
I will not be paying for something we found during Warranty period and which the Dealer refused to deal with!
