CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.

The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

The engine sounds like a damn tractor when idling or idles rough at stops.

This was the first service appointment after purchasing the vehicle. The initial complaint was the engine ticking noise and a rough low idle (reported in a separate complaint). The ticking was due to a purge solenoid valve that was replaced. They told me that this also resolved the rough idle, it did not.

I mentioned to the dealer a recall that was also on the vehicle that related to the parking brake. They told me the recall was not actually on my vehicle and they would fix that with Chrysler.

As it turns out on my next service appointment, 1 week later, the recall was valid and they fixed it at that time but the rough idle still remained even after the second service appointment.
