The vehicle stalls at low speeds or when stopped at a stop sign. It sometimes will exhibit a sudden loss of power followed by a chime as if engine is about to stall. Two dealerships and two local mechanics have performed a complere system diagnostic. One of them retrieved code P0700-related to loss of communication with PCM. He cleared the codes and test drove it again and could not replicate the problem.the dealerships have no clue as to what is going on. This is a serious problem if our car were to stall all of a sudden on the highway and cause an accident. From what I have seen there are hundreds of complaints on this issue, is there anything you can do?

Due to substandard design, the material used to insure proper gear shifting fails. After much research, it appears to be common. The cost of repair and towing does not seem fair when the problem is so common.

Without any warning the car would not come out of park. Dealership said that it was internal shifter failure. This is a 2006 Chrysler 300 that I purchased in November of 2005. They recalled the 2005 with this problem but not the 2006.
