I have a Chrysler 300S. Now that it is getting colder out I am starting to have a problem with it starting. I get in push on the brake hit the start button and the gauge display reads car in D transmission needs serviced and the car does not start. I wait about 30 minutes and notice that the orange indicator light has just come on above the P on the gear shift module. I push the start button and the car starts. It does this every morning. I can drive it for the rest of the day or leave it parked it doesn't matter it will start but then come morning time when its time to work bam I am 30 minutes late for work because the car will not start. I have replaced the ESM Electronic shift module thinking that was the cause but nope still does it. I have replace the transmission relay in the fuse box and nope not the issue. Why is this happening. Unfortunately the car has 45000 on it now so it is out of warranty. It did do it once at 20000 but went away quickly and never came back until this past week. Now its every single morning....Any ideas anyone???? $450.00 a month for a car that won't start hurts a little Chrysler!!

starting problem, warning lights, instrument panel issues

This car is less than 2 weeks old. I went to church on Sunday with family and friends. After the service, the car did not want to start. We were stranded in the Wisconsin cold for a good 15 to 20 minutes. The instrument panel went crazy. Many warning lights came back one by one "brakes light", "service AWD", "service vehicle stability system", "service gear shifter", "key cannot be recognized", etc. I called Chrysler via customer ASSIST and they called roadside assistance. out of the blue, the car decided to start on its own. I felt a loss of power, the check engine came on and other warning lights were on. I began to drive from church and on my way home, the instrument panel went crazy as i drove. The gauges went up and down during driving and fishy/burning smell came in.

I arrived home and parked it in my garage to be able to take it to the dealership in the morning as instructed by Chrysler. First thing in the morning, the car would not start and the warning lights were still there. Called Chrysler again and was told that a tow truck was on its way. Once again, the car turned on miraculously. I called Chrysler back and cancelled the towing. I took the car to the dealership and they ran a scan. It produced a list of codes.

After 4 days at the shop, the dealership (Bergstrom Chrysler) told me that the car was reset and that they could not find the source of the problem. They attributed it to a potential battery issue; although, they cannot explain how I had the issue as i was driving. Later they determined the battery was okay and the charging system was okay as well. As a result, they now attributed the issue to an isolated fluke. My case was supposedly escalated to a Chrysler case manager on Sunday, who has not called me five days later. Today, the car has an awful fishy/burn smell that drives crazy.

I am frustrated with a car worth more than $42K, which I just purchased, which is giving me problems within a week of buying it. The dealership refused to share the codes with me, stating they reset the vehicle and it deleted them. However, I remember seeing the codes as he loaded them into his tablet. I am not even mentioning all of the issues I experienced.

I am a disabled war veteran with enough problems and stresses as it is, and this is my first brand new car. All of my savings are invested on this car that seems to be a lemon. I want Chrysler to do the right thing and give me a new 300C. However, I doubt it will happen. My sleep is going away as I will always think that i will be stranded on the side of the road with this car. My love for it is now gone. Could somebody help me with suggestions on how to have Chrysler do the right thing?
