They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The contact maneuvered to the side of the road where a bungee cord was used to secure the interior door handle. There were two recalls associated with NHTSA campaign id numbers 07V414000 (latches/locks/linkages) and 07V104000 (07V104000) however, the vehicle was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 128,000.

When arriving for the repair she was informed the parts were not available. The consumer received 2 recall notices in the mail. Recall numbers 01V104000 and 07V473000.
