I am fixing my throttle control body for the second time. I bought the 1800 dollar extended warranty and this work is not covered. To fix its 500 each time. The dealership just says tough luck mr.....the Dodge company just passes you from person to person until you either give up or hear sorry not our problem. This should not fail at all never mind two times in one year!!! I am telling everyone that will listen to not buy a Dodge product....

Avenger

  • 74,000 miles
As I was driving down the road headed onto the interstate my car lost speed and went from 50mph to 40mph and the electronic throttle body light came on. Gas pedal was to the floor and couldn't go over 40mph. Felt like the car was going to die if I was to let off the gas then it would all of a sudden speed up on its own to 50. When I had to slow down for a red light which thankfully I didn't need to stop I couldn't get the mph over 30 once I started going again. I got home safe but this seems to be a problem as I have read. This needs to be fixed or recalled. Big safety issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Avenger

  • 95,000 miles
While driving on the interstate, my car suddenly dropped to 20mph and I had to pull off the road. I didn't have anywhere to pull over so I put my flashers on and drove as far right as I could until I had room to pull off the road. It was a very busy part of the interstate and I could have easily been ran over. I had to have it towed to the local dealership where they replaced and electric throttle. This is an issue Dodge Chrysler has been aware of for many years. It should be recalled.

For the past 6 months I've been getting a lightening bolt indicator light coming on. The car will stall. Now it's so bad that this morning it would not go past 10 mph. The light goes off by the time I can get into the shop. A friend had the same exact car with the exact same problems and the dealership had to replace her throttle body 3 times and it still wouldn't fix it. This car needs a recall since I can't afford to fix a $500 problem over and over and over.

Received indicator light that electronic throttle control failed, in the middle of traffic my car dropped speed to 20 miles an hour, I was almost rear ended with two children in my car. I have spoke to several Dodge certified mechanics and they has all attested that this is a known issue but not being fixed. I called Dodge and they said my issue was an isolated incident. When I told them that I spoke to their mechanics and research and found hundreds of other customers with this issue they said and I quote "you can find anything you want if you search long enough". some one is going to get killed if their car drops to 20 miles an hour on a freeway.
