Avenger 3.6L

  • CVT transmission

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

One afternoon I open the driver side door and heard this clicking noise. I turned on the AC and it went away so I figured it was a vent flap that was stuck so I let it ride. Then the next time i open the same door that clicking was there again. My husband noticed and said it's probably an actuator, but the dash is a beach taking off so we are getting the best way we can. Dodge needs to fix this problem.

I've been having several problems with my Avenger. First, the window and now this knocking noise from the passenger side vent. I contacted Dodge to see if there were any recalls since I saw so many complaints. However, they informed me that I would have to pay out of pocket since the warranty does not include this issue. I'm very frustrated with this car because I know there are lot of faulty things and it's wrong that Dodge does not want to take ownership of.

Avenger 4 Cy Bk

  • Automatic transmission
  • 213,783 miles

All my 4 Dodge Avengers have this annoying noise coming from inside the dash. It needs to be fixed. All my Dodges have this. It is a faulty butterfly valve or something inside the a/c unit. When the switch is changed to a different setting, it knocks like a dwarf is trying to get out of the glove box. If all my Dodges are doing the same thing, it is the makers fault and needs to recall and fix the problem!

I know another person at work that has the same issue! I have been told that Chrysler knows of the problem but does not extend the warranty for it! How do they expect to get repeat customers?

Avenger SXT 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,000 miles

This started happening and now it only stops if I turn on the circulator button on the fan speed dial. My husband thought the vent door was sticking and replaced something in the dash, but that only fixed the problem for a few days. It is very annoying and wish Dodge would fix the issue and not make it cost me an arm and a leg. I purchased this car in 2013 used, and didn't expect to have all these problems with this car. Airbag issues, heater issues and vent clicking sound....ugh, just for dang frustrating!!!

Avenger SXT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

The heater blows cold air from the passenger side. Also it makes a loud clicking on the passenger side. My wife won't drive in the car in the winter. Went to Barton Dodge in Spokane and the said $200 to check it out. It is obviously a factory problem as seen from all the complaints. I've never had a good experience at either of the Dodge dealers in Spokane.

Avenger 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

I thought this car would be a life saver but it's a headache. First my seat belt light came on and I took it to the shop and they reset the TIPM but the light still on and they said I needed to replace something else. If I was to have a wreck my head restraint airbag won't work. Now my heat is blowing cold air on the passenger side and hot on the drivers side. This is a pain in the ass and something needs to be done about it as soon as possible. I will never buy another Dodge again because there is too many problems with these cars and they don't want to fix them.

This is the worst car ever!!! Then when it rains my trunk holds water and when I let it up the water comes out of the lock hatch and that gets on my dam nerves. Dodge/Chrysler needs to get their act together asap. I am trading this car really soon!!
