My vehicle only blows hot air on the driver side. This seems to be a common issue among many others with the same vehicle. We tried to flush the heater core and it did nothing.

The heater on the passenger side stopped blowing warm air when the car is either idling or on the freeway. Even with putting it full blast there's not heat coming out of the passenger side, just the drivers side.

In my car there is no heat. At first it started with just heat blowing from the driver side and slowly the heat completely stopped working. The car makes a loud ticking noise behind the glove compartment when the heat is turned on, and even when it is just sitting in the parking lot off.

Yes I was on I 85 connector in charlotte nc on my way to work, my car started running hot had to get it towed, miss time from work had to catch uber two days which cost over 40 bucks, come to find out they say it was my emission system to cause my car to run hot, now I have to miss more time from work to take it to get repaired, the emission system has a recall on it.

The drivers side blows hot air when I set the knob on hot but the passenger side only blows cold air and won't heat up. Its terrible for in the winter only half of the windshield gets unlogged and the other half I can't see out of. Ive read somewhere that this is a defect in the car somewhere and Dodge should have to cover the costs for fixing them.

Heat blows out drivers side vent. But blows cold out passenger side vent. Have changed thermostat and actuator doors. Have flushed system several times and still no change. Garage estimated me 1400 to change out radiator and heater core but not guaranteed this will help matter. Apparently this is a common issue with the 2012 Dodge Ram.

Avenger

Heat only works on drivers side part of the time. Have found out this is a manufacturer defect with the heater core. With no heat on passenger side I can not drive my car in the winter. I can not defrost my windshield due to no heat and if I am driving in snow or freezing wet temperatures my windshield w freezes up. This has been a problem I have had since I bought the car in 2018. Took it to the dealership I bought it from and found out it was a manufacturer defect. Filed a complaint with Dodge and was told I would have to bring the car in for diagnostic which would be charged to see what is wrong with it. Have read that many Avenger owners are having the same problems with no real fix by Dodge. It is a heater core defect. Which is over a $1,000 fix that I should not have to pay for due to it being a defect from the manufacturer.

  • 62,350 miles
Dodge left residual machining debris in the Avenger engine blocks that flows with coolant into the heater core and radiator causing the heater core to clog up and blocks heat to passenger side in the winter causing unsafe or unfit to operate in cold weather. I've had my Avenger in Dodge dealership where they confirm my heater core is blocked. It costs over 2K to fix this issue caused by defective or lack of Dodge factory engine inspections. I've spoken to fca the Dodge parent company and their answer is we should've had extended warranty even though I'm within the mileage for the factory warranty but out of amount of years coverage. My Avenger had extended warranty from an outside source but that company will not cover Dodge created malfunctions. The attached info shows my Avenger at the Dodge dealership on 03-06-2019. I also had it serviced in wichita at pr autoglass and auto services just prior to bringing it to Dodge dealership. Pr autoglass and services stated it is the heater core and that the problem cannot be flushed out as it has accumulated in the heater core blocking it from being professionally flushed. The residue was also evident in the radiator but flushing did remove that the best we can tell. Dodge has a known issue with having left this debris in the engine blocks during the machining processes on Avengers.
