CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Dodge Caliber has all kinds of suspension problems at relatively low mileage: typically 40-50,000 miles.

The most commonly reported problems are with ball joints & control arms going bad. Tie rods & leaking struts are also reported failing in the same mileage range.

Unfortunately all the suspension problems means some owners only find out after they notice their tires are ruined.

We've given the 2007 Caliber our worst rating because these problems happen at such low mileage, & it involves a wide range of apparently defective parts. With most other cars, major suspension work is pretty rare under 50,000 miles.

It is important when you buy an American car the quality of the paint is equal or better the import cars. I don't expect to have to paint the car because bad quality of paint from the manufacture, so I would like to have the manufacture fix this problem.

The car was only a year old at this point. I took it to the car wash and as I sprayed the front grill off a piece of paint the size of a dime flew off. The dealer tried to tell me a rock hit that area and chipped it off. I stood my ground, because I saw it with my own two eyes. The paint wasn't loose or peeling it just flew off when I sprayed the front grill with the car wash wand. I was worried since the paint came off so easily that the rest of the grill would start losing paint over time. So they agreed to paint the whole grill. I didn't have any problems with the freshly painted grill or any paint on the rest of the body of the car.

Car paint job is crap. Thanks Dodge. I do not live in a high phosphorous area, near the ocean, or salted roads... So why did the paint literally start cracking and peeling off all over the car??? Thank the heavens I no longer have this car!!!!
