Caliber SE 2.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 85,600 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Transmission tends to slip a lot anymore. I have already had it replaced at 30k miles and I'm on my third TCM. I will be at a stop sign or a traffic light and go to press the gas I get a lot of acceleration at first then the car will jerk and I will lose power and only accelerate about 5 to 10 mph.

I am done with this car it has been nothing but problems

Caliber SXT 2.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 123,000 miles

Started last summer 2014 @ 90,000 miles trans fluid was pretty clean, green - son was traveling once to TN (started 1-hour into 3-hr trip), twice to SC (started 2.5 into 5hr trip) - car overheated. NO lights came on either time. He was always able to keep control of car to pull over safely. After about 30 mins he would be on his way again for 30-45, then it would overheat again with NO check engine lights. This only happened when on Interstate - around town was fine. Love the manual - and everyone says transmission fluid never needs to be changed "expect" in theses conditions "lists" Come on DODGE just don't say fluid never needs to be changed!!!

This summer 2015 changed fluid 123,000 which was burnt, overhaul tune-up on car. WELL car goes into gears just fine. CAR shakes, sputters horribly when you press gas pedal then you can only go 10mph. FINALLY - today check engine light came on with code P0730 - something is wrong with transmission well no sh*t. Check list is about 5 - things - so vague. Really lets jump right in and change the whole transmission at $3,000-$5,000 NOBODY wants to touch the car expect Dodge. Car missed the TCM/PCM (which is on the list for transmission code) recall by 2-months COME ON DODGE!!!!

The icing on the cake I am the only owner of the vehicle bought car April 2009 with 15 miles on it. I fell under the lifetime warranty. Wait NOBODY from Dodge NEVER said anything - not when I bought it and the countless times at Dodge - Chrysler states it's not there or the dealer responsibility to send anything or say anything when at service dept, they say "I should have read it in my manual." SO, everyone when you buy a car STUDY the manual. BTW - missed the "Lifetime Inspection by 30days" but it was my responsibility to ask for the inspection & FYI its not the "World Class Inspection"

The car has been a great driving car... However, Shame on you Dodge/Chrysler. I will never buy a Dodge car again, because of customer service.

Transmission fails, usually on highway, strands car on the side of the road. This has happened three times. How to fix ? Sit on the side of the highway and take the chance of dying. Once it cools off you are fine. This car should have been recalled years ago. Dealer found no problems. Huge mistake of a car

Caliber SX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 135,000 miles

On so many occasions at least 2-3 times a month I am stalled. When I first purchased the vehicle I took it in and they told me it was a "safety feature". So here I am driving 65 mph and the transmission light comes on and within 5 min the vehicle stalls. sometimes it takes 15 min for the transmission to cool down and other times over an 1 hour. So never can I drive 65 mph. 55 and taking a few breaks if more then an hour drive. The dealership always says the same thing a safety feature so when the transmission gets hot it stops. GREAT. so here I am driving on the freeway and no place to pull over and my car stops.. I have a car load of children who we must get out of the car, walk to safe place and wait.. I am so in fear that a car rear ends us one day or hits the car when we are trying to get out.. this is not a safe feature.. I owe more then the car is worth right now.. and to replace the entire transmission is not a sure fix since its in the computer, might have to replace that as well.. I have complained to dodge many times, and they do not care.. This is the last dodge I will buy. I have owned dodge since my first car.. always a dodge.. but this is my last... 2009 dodge caliber. now the engine lights on..P2004 and P20017.. always one problem after another..

I have taken the car to 3 dealers to get this fixed but run into the dealer saying we can find nothing wrong. Feed-up & ready to get rid of this car.
