In mid-June of 2021 my passenger projector head light became intermittent. Later in August 2021, while having a dealership work on a different issue I ask them to replace the light. After about a week the change the intermittency returned. After dealing with it being intermittent and worrying about a ticket for the faulty light, I took the car in to another dealership for investigation. The dealership shared that there were two things they could do. 1) replace the entire wiring harness (30hrs $3k) or replace a piece of wire under the fuse box due to melting and move the fuse slot for ($900) They removed the wiring an installed in another slot. $1.45 in parts and $897.23 in labor. I waited about 3hrs for it to be changed. Round two saw the same thing happening to the driver's side headlight not but a 6 months later. Now that I knew what the problem was, I could at least get out and wiggle the fuse until it made a good connection. I waited about 4-5 months and coupled this work with warranty work that was still needing complete from 44k miles. Again, the parts were $2.50 and the labor was $629.79.

The first time Dodge customer care refunded about half the labor $400ish. Now they are refusing to do so as it "was a courtesy" due to my troubles. Love the car but I have had many issues that I have never seen on any car I have ever owned.

Researching this site, I see the exact fuse box or TIPM that is in my car. Coupled with the dealership admitting the parts were on back order with other customers needing the quick fix (but expensive) lends to a poorly designed fuse box. This should be a recall item across all body styles.

V/R,

Shawn
