CarComplaints.com Notes: The first year of the new Dodge Dart had a rough start, with owners reporting a disproportionate number of engine and transmission problems.

For transmission, the main complaints are transmission failure & rough shifting. So far, average mileage for transmission failure is 25,000 miles. Not good.

For engine problems, it usually starts with the engine light coming on for any number of reasons: bad sensors, ignition coil replacement, bad wiring, faulty gas cap ... dealers are replacing various components with varying degrees of success, or telling owners they can't duplicate the issue.

This problem keeps getting worse. The rotors need to be replaced and I haven't even had this vehicle a year. I've already replaced the brakes. I'm just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem or is it just my vehicle.

I noticed deep grooves on my rotors behind my front wheels. Took it to the dealership and after they oohhed and ahhed and had never seen this before, they said maybe the caliper is sticking. Both wheels? Ok...back rotors are smooth as a babies bottom. Dealership calls and says that Chrysler won't cover as it is over 12,000 miles and that is "normal wear and tear". I am sorry, new cars need tires at about 40,000 and a battery at about three years. I have put brakes on one vehicle and it was WAY over 18,000 miles. I picked the car up and had taken pics of the rotors before I dropped it off. Leave, angry....car is pulling severely to the right. Turned around and went back to dealership. Service Mgr drove it and said, "Yep, it is definitely pulling to the right". It wasn't yesterday or this morning!! There was a white scratch on my right front wheel that was not there. Someone ran my car into something at the dealership. Service mgr said, "Couldn't be my guy, he the oldest and the best". Must be that caliper sticking. WHAT? He just said it wasn't sticking, didn't make those deep ruffles have ridges grooves and it has some white concrete and scratches on the wheel now. I am so pissed, I can't even see straight.
