My wife's van. It has an intermittent hesitation problem. When starting from a red light, after it turns green, the van will hesitate and not take off when the accelerator is pressed. One time the van completely quit at an intersection, and the van had to be towed to a mechanic.

The fuel filter and fuel pump were changed. I have sprayed carb cleaner into the breather, used fuel injector cleaner in the fuel. It might not do it for another month, but when it does, it does it to my wife as she is the main driver of this vehicle. This is the vehicle she uses to take our two kids to dance, hockey and for family outings.

Could it be the ignition system, a sensor(s), dirt in the gas tank, bad distributor?
