What genius decided that the heater should only heat when the engine is warmed completely? Because if it is snowing I want my car warm now!!!!!!! not 10 or more later. This is really a pain in the ass. I was informed all Dodge Grand Caravans are like this, really. I Dodge really trying to commit product sucide? Ever since I found out about the defects on this 2005 model I have been online telling everyone DO NOT BUY DODGE ANYTHING!

The unit works fine most of the time. Then it goes on the blink and we have NO control over anything. If it decides to run the defogger, we have very hot air blowing full blast in the face. If the defogger is not on, the windshield gets fogged up and we have to use something to wipe it off. Then all of the sudden, the unit will come on and work fine. The 3 places for the temp degrees will show L L L when it's not working. We were told we needed to replace the whole unit at a cost of over $700! About the time we decide we have to do that to keep the car, the thing starts working again!

Temperature gauge was reading normal. Extended driving or selecting recycled air would not solve problem. Leak from water pump lowered coolant level sufficient to effect heat but not temp gauge.

We purchased the best Chrysler extended warranty available with new car purchase. So far all repairs have been covered and we get a free rental car (minivan) even if the vehicle is in for just one day. The dealership is convenient to our location, the service has been great and so we are happy with this vehicle.

We purchased our minivan fully loaded. Although the seating is not as comfortable as a Honda or Toyota, the price of the vehicle with the extended warranty was still almost $20,000 less than the competition. If we had not purchased the extended warranty, I'm not sure I would be happy with this vehicle.
