: the contact stated while starting the vehicle, the engine warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealership who determined the emission gas recirculation valve (egr) had to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted who coincided with the dealership determination. The contact was very concerned because the egr valve was part of the emission control. Updated 11/30/2006 - the consumer purchased and installed the part himself.
