Around April 15, 2010 the air conditioner started blowing out warm air. Recharged and it worked only overnight. I had the hose replaced, worked fine until today ( June13, 2010) now it is blowing out hot air again and the compressor is not turning. I think this is a problem that Dodge needs to address. I cant afford to keep fixing this.

We finally found the reason why our ac would lose the charge and only blow out cool air days after being fully charged....there was a leak in the compressor to condenser high side hose. Chrysler knows this is a problem, they even redesigned the hose because they keep cracking, but they won't do a recall. They have had to replace so many of these hoses that they have put a limit on how many are ordered a week, so as of today it would take 9 weeks to get a new one! 9 weeks will put us right in the middle of summer and I am in my third trimester of pregnancy so the mechanic we took it to is going to try and fix the hose we already have.

The weather has turned unseasonably warm and went to turn on the air-conditioner and the air was not cold. It was cool, but certainly not cold. I am afraid to take it to the dealer and get an opinion because they will tell me it needs to be repaired and will not be covered under warranty. That is a real shame. I cannot believe for a vehicle that has only endured 1. summers, that the AC would be failing in this way. Shame on you Dodge. It's a piece of crap!!

Grand Caravan SXT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

Had to go back to the dealer 4 times once to have the system Died.

Then to have to order new pipes for the fire wall to the air conditioner.

Back because the did not clear the codes for the air being recharged

Back to have it EVAC'ED and filled again - codes cleared.
