Grand Caravan SX 3.8L

Car steers hard under stressful conditions such as side wind or slanted road. Homan auto,53963 owners drove car and said that is the way a Dodge drives so I had to "suck it up". My 2000 Silverado PU truck drives much better. Salesman thought it might be the tires. At 35000 miles I decided to buy new tires. Replaced Kokomo tires with Kellys. This made the car drive better. Again I had to "suck up" the 600 plus dollar cost. Probably will be the last Dodge Caravan I will buy.

Grand Caravan SX 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

Purchased car 5/13/08. Complained about how the van steered & handled hard when driving along a slanted road or when there was a side wind, Also when braking & turning it requires two good hands to control the van.Dealer rotated the tires & realigned front end numerous times. We went on a 5000 mile trip across country and had the same problem on the highways, especially with side winds.

Complained again to the dealer. Two of the owners drove the van and reported that it was OK( They said it handled like a Dodge) I finally got two of the sales personal to drive it and they admitted that this vehicle steered hard under stress. The dealer then had me drive two different used vehicles. One of these vehicles handled better than mine so the dealer replaced my front steering system with that one and said that was all he could do for my problem. I am still not satisfied with how this van handles under stress.

My 2000 Chev truck handles better than my 2008 van.

HELP - I will gladly welcome any advice or suggestions
