Purchased new 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan with Lifetime Powertrain Warranty in August 2009. Had to take vehicle every 5 years to get inspected to maintain lifetime warranty. Took it in 2014 for 5 year inspection. In 2017 at 132,000 miles had an issue with transmission and dealer fixed it at no cost due to lifetime warranty. Took vehicle in 2019 for 10 year inspection. In September 2022 took vehicle to dealer due to transmission issue. FCA US (Fiat Chrysler Auto) denied repair on vehicle because there was no maintenance record for transmission service at 120,000 miles even though it was repaired at no cost at 132,000. Area Manager Jeff Clark (with FCA US) denied claim and dealer will not give me a number to call to speak to this person.

I will be going in to the dealership soon to have my gear selector unit replaced for the 2nd time since owning this van. Should be covered by lifetime powertrain warranty like the first time when van was only 2 yrs. old.

Grand Caravan SXT 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 138,000 miles

I have taken my Van into the Dealearship at least four times and they keep saying that the only thing that they could find wrong is the range sensor. I have to pull my van over and turn it off and restart it again before it will work right. No codes will come up accordingly to the dealership when I take it in. I have complained about this many times and this is getting beyond crazy. While im driving the RPM'S will just shoot up and will not go back down. I HAVE STATED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS IS A FAULTY TRANSMISSION AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT THEY KEEP SAYING THEY DON'T KNOW!!!!!!!!!! ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I have another appointment to take my van in next week for the same problem since they claim that there Transmission guy is out for the week. A big DEALERSHIP WITH ONE TRANS GUY??????
