I had to get into the back hatch of van so hatch is up then a big bang shook the whole van like we was hit, then hatch was in my back. I really did not think anything about it. Called dealer, they said it would cost to fix it but like I told them it should be covered under power electric motor . Bad part, my back is messed up, t8 fractured.

I'm guessing the mileage and when the liftgate stopped working, but it was not long after the warranty. The liftgate simply stopped opening and shutting automatically. I took it to a dealer and they found the chain/gear to be broken. Although an inconvenience, this was something I never had fixed due to its cost and repair difficulty. The dealer removed the lift arm and broken chain.
