I purchased this vehicle used. Everything was fine when I drove off the lot till 3 weeks later a clunk started do occur when steering the car stopped. Mostly when I turn the steering wheel to the left. But now the suspension clunks when I brake or accelerate and its only on the driver side wheel. Now suspension from drivers side sounds like its loose when going over bump or etc. And the clunk gets worse when it rains.

Grand Caravan 3.6L V6

Bought the van brand new in January 2014; no problems at all until late summer when a slight clunk (or "catching" feeling) developed in the steering system. It felt like it was right behind the steering wheel, and could be felt when turning the steering wheel to the left (about 11 o'clock). Mostly when the van was stationary. Between then and October 2014, the clunk became more pronounced, and started happening while accelerating, going over bumps and uneven road surfaces, and several places when turning the steering wheel left AND right. Now it's feeling more like there's something loose in the steering system somewhere.

I took the van to Wille Chrysler. They documented my complaint, and kept the van for a few hours to examine. They said they could feel the clunk but couldn't find anything wrong mechanically. All they would do is document the problem.

Currently, the van seems to steer fine, but the clunk is still there. It's a concern because a) it wasn't there when I bought the van, and b) I don't know why the steering system is making the clunk feeling and whether something is going to come apart on the road. No idea what to do next.

Update from Sep 30, 2015: Sometime in the last 10,000km (6000mi), the clunk in the steering has resolved itself. The van still seems to steer just fine; tight and precise as you'd expect from a new vehicle. I guess it will forever remain a mystery.
