The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. Upon starting the vehicle, it stalled and was unable to restart. The contact stated that the engine and windshield wipers failed, and the instrument panel lighting illuminated continuously. This was a recurring failure. The dealer advised the contact to bring the vehicle in for repair. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000. On January 4, 2013, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. The contact's vehicle spun around, became airborne, and landed upright. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to left shoulder and had to wear a brace. The contact sought medical attention. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,000. Updated 02/10/16

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the engine mounts, but the failure recurred. The contact also stated that the driver side window opened and closed independently. In addition, the other power windows only functioned manually. On another occasion, the vehicle stalled while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the housing was cracked, the drive shaft going into the transmission hub was misaligned and needed to be replaced as well as the transmission.
