Recently my 2010 Dodge Journey had to have power train warranty done (rear diff). It was taken to the Dodge dealership, on February 2nd. at which I was told it was not booked in until the 2nd of March. After sitting in their lot for about 3 weeks, it was put into the shop for repair. I received a message “we” had a problem so I went to the service department. I was told that they denied the warranty on the Journey because of 1 different sized tire and a totally different tread pattern.. It measured 1 inch difference in circumference than the other 3 tires. I went and looked at the tires. All 4 read 225/55 R19.

I then went to Kal tire to have them explain to me about the size tire and pattern since the questionable tire was recently put on by Kal Tire They stated that he would like to see himself, which he went with me back to the dealership . He stated the size on all 4 are the same size, and the tire pattern as-well is the same. He checked information on computer for compatibility for the tires. One tire was stock Dodge tires (Solus) ( The 1 “odd” tire was my 1 good tire that wasn’t separated from my original set, which Dodge marked for me to keep, if I needed a tire.) 4 new tires I purchased from Dodge (Sonny), the Tire expert with Kal Tire, feels that Dodge is trying to screw me out of warranty.

I have called Dodge of Canada, with no results. All I get is the district manager has decided the tire caused the problem, and they will not look any further into this matter. We have tried to get the district managers name and phone number to speak with him, but Dodge of Canada will not give it, nor will the Local dealership. How can I argue a decision when I am unable to speak with the person that made the decision?

On Friday February 20th , my boyfriend went to the dealership to deal with the matter of the “tire”. When asked how this measurement was determined, he was told the tire circumference was measured. When he asked what the air pressure was in each tire when the test was done. They were not able to say for any of the tires or even one “odd” tire? We were never even asked how long we had the tire on my Journey. Which I had just put on recently, (we think about 2 weeks) when at -35 I had a blow out. Nowhere in the owners manual, does it state that you can not have more than 1 brand name tires on. As far as circumference goes, a few pounds air pressure can account for a difference in tire circumference.

I have gone to (Ford), and Chev-ols (Chev) and both cannot believe that Dodge is pulling such a stunt.

We have phoned every possible person, business government avenue we could think of, .

Quote to do the repair is 200 dollars under 6000.00 dollars. Hard pill to swallow when I followed the information given by the proffesionals
