Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. While driving at approximately 8 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle did not restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the starter failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,000.

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, when the vehicle stalled and he was then able to coast onto the emergency lane. The contact tried to start the vehicle multiple times when blue smoke was underneath the hood. It was difficult for the contact to get out of the vehicle since the electronic locks failed to open the doors. The contact was only able to get out of the vehicle by engaging the smart key. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who stated that the starter was melting and the vehicle was out of gas. The failure occurred two additional times at a low mileage prior this incident. The starter was previously repaired. The failure mileage was 5000. The current mileage was 1012.
