Car constantly does not start. I have had to have it towed multiple times after driving places because it just decides to not start. The starter cranks but does not start. Then out of the blue it starts again and will start every day for weeks and then not start again. This started happening this past year and now this past two months got worse where it won't turn back on at all for days on end. I had to take it to a mechanic the second I was lucky enough it decided to start. New starter and new battery did not fix. Mechanic believes computer is bad. It is a security issue. Registering my car as incorrect vin number to car.

Brake system has ongoing and continuous defects, malfunctions and failure. I have had calipers fall off and pr stick causing the wheel to overheat and melt the tire rim. Replaced all that. Brakes never seem strong enough to properly stop this vehicle safely. Brake lights stay off and on light a Christmas tree. Had several inspections for code errors. Replace entire system in January of 2023. $1,800. Less than 500 miles later, another caliper sticks, then snaps causing entire break assembly to move, damaging yet another wheel rim. I love this vehicle. The room, style. But it's not safe. I've almost caused an accident on the road 3 times due to this useless brake system. This last incident put me in a ditch. It's still in the mechanics shoo. Severe wheel damage this time.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,199.

The contact stated that she would disconnect the horn fuse per the Owner-€™s Manual. However, the failure would reoccur whenever the fuse was reconnected. The contact stated that the failure was draining the battery and the battery was replaced several times. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power and shut off while driving on three different occasions. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and jumpstarted the vehicle with assistance. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred increasingly and the vehicle failed to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) module was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Too many electrical problems, the key fob, the ignition won't start until several tries I've had a new starter put in but constantly told it's the electrical component, the car shift gears on its own, told again it's the tcm module electrical problems, the batter dies within a year of getting a new one. Abs system problems, crank shaft system problems, the horn beeps on its own, it's so bad I have to remove chip at night so my neighbors don't complain..once again told by everyone that it's an electrical programing problem that I have to go to Dodge dealer to fix..I don't understand he how come I have to spend so much money for them to keep fixing electric problems. It's worse after a big down pour of rain..it seems everything shorts out... Have to wash it 2 days after it rain to drive my car.

WE PURCHASED OUR 2010 DODGE JOURNEY FROM AN AUCTION. RIGHT AWAY THERE WERE ALL SORTS OF ELECTRONIC ISSUES WITH VARIOUS BELLS & WHISTLES. MOST OF THESE WERE SOLVED ONCE WE PURCHASED A NEW FOB & HAD IT PROGRAMMED. HOWEVER, MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE HORN WILL BLOW WITHOUT TOUCHING THE STEERING WHEEL. IT WILL BLOW WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF, DOES NOT MATTER. MY HUSBAND HAD TO DISCONNECT THE HORN UNDER THE HOOD IN ORDER TO GET IT TO STOP. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO AN INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER AND THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND WHY THE HORN WILL NOT STOP BLOWING. I DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THE VEHICLE NEEDS AN UPDATE, HOWEVER, AFTER MUCH RESEARCHING ON THE WEB MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE UPDATE COMPLETED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THE HORN ISSUES STARTED AGAIN 2 WEEKS LATER, MANY MUCH SOONER. OUR VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY ANYONE ELSE. ALSO, THERE ARE NO WARNING LAMPS IN REGARDS TO THE HORN THAT HAVE COME ON. WE ARE LOOKING INTO HAVING A SEPARATE HORN INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE, DUE TO THE SAFETY ISSUE. DODGE NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL IN REGARDS TO THIS HORN ISSUE THAT COULD COST SOMEONE THEIR LIFE, IT'S QUITE UNBELIEVABLE THEY HAVE NOT DONE SO. For many years (at least 8) this SUV has experienced odd, electrical issues (1) on at least 4 occasions I have found all windows lowered halfway when coming out to the car in the morning. (2) on 2 occasions I could not get the interior lights to turn off. It took multiple restarts and stops to stop effect. (3) about 18 months ago, while parked frequently at night, the horn would start honking. It appeared the alarm system was responding. The remote would not turn it off. Car needed key inserted and to be started. Finally it started randomly blowing while I was driving. I removed fuses to stop issue. (4) recently, overnight, the relatively new (less than a year) battery would be dead in morning. No lights left on. Alternator working. On the 2nd occasion I noticed when jumped the turn indicator was blinking despite not being turned on. This was the first time I decided to seek service help as a dead battery every morning is not just a minor problem. Vehicle current at garage.

Drove to the park, parked the car. Went for a walk, came back 20 minutes later, car would not start. Turn the key, no sound, all dash light come one, car will not crank, no sound at all. towed the car to my house, and charged battery for a full day. Car same issue, will not crank, no noise. I turn the key to on, press on the brake and move to neutral, and car still no start. I use the remote starter, and car just clicks a few times and does not start. Basically turning the key to start, lights come on as usual, then no noise no crank no start. this is third day of trying to start this car, never had issues with it for over a year, and never with starting car. No warnings at all, no lights on to show anything bad before this, and no warning after it happened, scanner show no faulty codes detected. From the park waited to be towed and got home after 10 PM, safety, it got dark, it rained and unreliable to just not start.

If this is a know issue with these vehicles for over 10yrs why has it not been recalled to be fixed. As I drive the vehicle on the freeway with MY KIDS in it endaragering our lives and the many others who are on the road with me and the countless other dodge journey drivers. FIX THIS ISSUE. MAKE DODGE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR MISTAKE AS THEY KNOW WHAT THEY DID.

On our way to the coast my headlight went out completely and had to use only to day lights and fog light no headlight would come on they would only flicker. I was still a hour from the coast and 3 hours from home in the middle of the night. The horn goes off randomly and is annoying same with the wind shield wipers. They go at random and are not needed.the horn is when I am stationary. The wipers go at anytime moving or stopped. The car acts possessed. I am scared to drive at night due to the headlights functionality I had my nephew with me when I had the headlights stop working and I will not put him in danger again. This needs fixed.
