We drove our 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 mega-cab from the Oklahoma-Kansas border straight down I-35 to Dallas Texas. We stopped at a stop sign and the truck locked in first gear and wouldn't come out. We turned the truck off, unhooked the battery, let it sit. Nothing. we were towed to a dealership. sat in the truck with it running for 3 hours. then they weren't able to look at it for another 1.5 hours. and the truck ran fine. They found nothing on the computer diagnostics but loss of power to the ECM. and they said that wouldn't cause the transmission to stick.
We have partnered with JustAnswer to offer online auto repair help and advice from expert professional automotive technicians. You describe your transmission problem or ask your question and they try to help you figure it out. The fee is typically $9 to $15, but you can offer to pay more for really tough questions. You will usually receive an answer in 10 minutes or less, and you do not have to pay anything unless you accept the answer.

(reported on)Ram 3500 Megacab 5.9L
On the way home (OK-KS border) from Dallas Texas (where the truck had been in the shop for low gear sticking), the truck would stick in the lowest gear when the speed of the truck would go slow. to get the truck to shift you had to stomp on the accelerator, let off then stomp on it again and it would shift extremely hard. The truck then went back into the Dodge dealership shop and they said there was nothing showing on the computer and nothing was done.
