Affected Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Summary
Some 2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with 2.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module. This may be due to a fault detected while in transport mode or a leak in the positive crankcase ventilation system. To correct the condition, deactivate transport mode, refer to WSM, Section 419-10. Perform a visual inspection of possible sources outlined in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-08B pinpoint test (PPT) HG. Clear all DTCs, allow the vehicle to sit until engine coolant temperature is below 45°C (113°F). Start the vehicle and allow it to idle in park (P) for 1 minute. Using the appropriate scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P04DB returns, perform PPT HG in the WSM. WSM, Section 303-14B contains removal and installation instruction for the crankcase pressure sensor.
