Interferes with defroster. Saw someone else used zip ties, unsure how I would do that. Still adequate enough to see most days.

Shortly after purchasing (used) the vent peeled up toward the window, causing it to almost not defrost the windshield (I live in the midwest with really cold winters). It has gotten worse after each hot summer. I had checked the recalls, but there was never a mention of it. I was quoted $250 to fix the problem...too much for my poor butt! So I have to let my car run extra long in the winter or risk not seeing due to the frost that forms, or in a pinch, take my scraper to the inside of the windshield. I never received a notice for the recall as others had mentioned there was one some time back.

The dashboard has been curling back from the base of the windshield. It's to the point where the tabs that are suppose to be under the windsheild are now exposed and I can't even see the hood of the car without actually getting out and looking at it. Because of this, the defroster/ defogger hardly does its job. A little un-safe I think. Ford did a volantary recall (failed to notify us of the recall) a few years ago which is no longer in effect.

I also have the dashboard peeling away and pulling up the vent. I had the windshield replaced and at that time I have the repair shop screw down the dashboard when the windshield was out. They did, the next summer when it got hot....up came the dashboard again! I even put a sunscreen on it all summer when it is sitting, but that does not help. This is definitely a manufactures problem and should be recalled!
