Death Wobble problem with my 2011 F-250 has occurred about 5 times already in past yr. Severely and dangerously shakes when it hits a pothole on HWY. Had alignment done as well as another part replace. Problem not solved. It is very dangerous. I was driving 65-70 on HWY when it does this shaking. I feel the lemon law should apply or Ford should recall this trucks.

E-250 Lariat 6.7L

When hitting uneven payment at highway speeds the front tires and steering starts to shake. As speed decreases, the wobble increases to the point where the violent shaking will not stop until almost a complete stop. I initially had this problem a few years ago when my tires were worn. Replaced tires and did not occur again until I had about 40k on the tires. I believe worn tires, in my case, is causing this phenomenon. Air pressure in the tires has nothing to do with it as I followed the NHTSA recommendation of 65 psi

IMO I believe that as the tires wear down, they have less traction on the road surface which allows for the oscillation of the tires to occur. Putting on new tires is a bandaid for a defective design. I have heard that changing the position of the axle (I believe camber) can correct the problem. This can only be done with shims.

In my case, I noticed that the shaking became worse as I slowed down. The natural reaction is to brake when the wobble begins. I decided that the next time it occurred, I would speed up. It works. The wobble corrects itself in a few seconds and is never near as severe as when I slow down. Crazy I Know.

Ford, you know about this problem. However, you won't do anything about it until several deaths occur. I believe that punitive damages would be warranted due to the knowledge you have of this problem today.
