Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Traveling East bound on I-84 10 miles from mountain home, Idaho when my left rear tire tread separated from the tire and then the tire blew. Tire type was a Firestone lt 365/75R16 load range D steeltex R4S model. The thread damage my quarter panel, wheel well splash gaurds and paint on vehicle. I was travel at 75 mph with my tire pressure set at recommended pressure set by Ford at 45 psi front and 55 psi in the rear. Vehicle was 2002 Ford Excursion XLT. I file a insurance claim for repair and they completed on Sept. 10, 2004. On Sept 14, 2004 I contact Firestone tech services about the tire. They will send a complaint and instruction how file a claim.

The consumer stated the tires on his vehicle had irregular wear and made a lot of noise. He read that the manufacturer was recalling these tires, so he took them to the dealer and had them checked, at which time he was advised to get more tires, because of the irregular wear. The consumer stated he did purchased more tires, after consulting the manufacturer who at that time advised him of what to do to get reimbursed for the bad tires. The consumer is now having a hard time trying to get reimbursement. Bridgeport/Goodyear lt 265/75 R 16 lrd.

My daughter drives a 2002 Ford Excursion and with very low miles the wear of the tires is unacceptable. They are wearing fast and uneven and make noise. Please look into these tires because she travels with my precious grandchildren daily. She has twins that are 2 years old and another son that is 3 that all ride in car seats. Thank you.
