Was driving, made a left turn and the passenger front door swung open, went to grab the door and grab the inside handle and it came off in my hand. I called the dealership and told me that my car wasn't made in the factory that the recall "Bad Handles" are being covered. Then they proceeded to tell me it would cost me approximately $4-5 hundred dollars to fix the problem. In all the cars I have ever owned I have never had a door handle fail. I am single and 63 and I have had the car since 2015, and can count on 1 hand how many times I have had too open that door. The dealership Bell Ford-Phoenix AZ was no help, I called Ford Customer service a 800-392-3673 and they gave me a case number # CAS-9615807, but the dealership still wants to charge me $100 to even look at the car. So right now I am bungy corded together holding the door shut. The car is not secure and no way to lock and alarm the car at night. I cannot believe how the customer service is " pretty sh*tty if you ask me". I figured it would be my last car that I would buy in my lifetime, but I will start looking now. I don't feel safe driving the car due to the car. Every time I get in I hope and pray that none of the other doors latches fail. I will be sh*t up a creek if they do.
