problem #4

Freestyle Limited 3.0L V6

  • CVT transmission

After driving my freestyle about 2 hours then letting it idle for about 30 mins it would stall when you try to drive anywhere. I would continue to idle until you put it in gear. The dealership i bought it from had it taken to 3 different mechanics to get it running and none of them could figure out the problem. Had to trade off for a Volvo and will never go back. Would not recommend at all!

My car randomly stalled while ac was on. Dealer checked it and said there was nothing wrong. It happened a few times, but it would start back up when I turned the key.

Every time I would start my car and put in in drive it would stall! Then after random tries I finally called AAA to tow it to the dealer.

Freestyle 3.2L V6

Our car kept stalling when comming to a stop and accelerating. It would take a lot of gas peddle to get up to speed and would jump and jerk. Cruse control stoped working when this problem occured. The car would accelerate on it's own when put into geer. I had to be very careful when I put car into gear. We were on a trip so we had to nurse the car home. We could not find a Ford dealer on our route. The next day we took our car to our local Ford dealer and they said we had a bad Throttle body. They said there is no recall on this problem as of yet.

Has anyone else had this problem? How many times has this happened to others without being reported? Anyway, I hope the unintended acceleration doesn't get someone hurt.
