  • Automatic transmission

I replaced the spark plugs with platinum spark plugs (as recommended by the Ford service manual), and cleaned the distributor cap and rotor, and replaced the ignition cables.

After this I unplugged the battery to reset the ECU (this is also recommended in the service manual).
