The contact owned a 1995 Ford Windstar. The contact purchased the vehicle on June 3, 2005 and the odometer read 59,000 miles. Contact ran a car fax report, and in the year 2000 the report was showing 100,300 miles on the vehicle. Also, the vehicle was not drivable because the transmission, head gasket, and fuel injection broke. She spoke with the dealership, and stated when they sold the van for someone else they would try to get contact money back.

1995 Ford Windstar suddenly began dumping unburned gasoline out of the tail pipe and getting 7 mpg where normal mpg is 19. Auto shop requested I sign documentation after diagnostic that they informed me it was unsafe to continue to drive the vehicle and that they were not liable for any damages incurred.

This is in reference to, Ford recall no. 99S3, or NHTSA recall no. 99V309.recently our 1995 Windstar developed the identical problem described in the aforementioned recall, fuel did leak out all over our garage, driveway, and my wife drove it with our two children for days without realizing the gas was leaking, over the exhaust, tires, & brakes.we went to our local Ford dealer (heritage Ford, modesto, ca.) & were told there was no recall on this problem.I had to pay $550 to repair it.I think a failure with this much danger should be covered by Ford, especially when there is already a recall for the exact problem, but my VIN number is not included.

Consumer took vehicle to a private mechanic, he diagnosed that head gasket had blownout, and fuel injectors needed to be replaced. Manufacturer was aware of defect in head gasket, but vehicle exceeded the mileage necessary to be included in manufacturer's recall. Please provide any additional information/attachments.

The # 3 cylinder fuel injector went out, which in turn made the module in the computer go out, and we have been informed that you can't replace the individual module you have to replace the whole computer at a estimated cost of 600 dollars. This is after having the head gasketts replaced and two new transmissions installed.

My concern is primarily aimed at engine head gasket problem identified by Ford Motor Company for the 1995 Ford winstar. In March of 1999, my wife and two children were driving in the car when the head gasget blew! the ensuing repairs ran over $2,486. Believing that my warranty had expired I had a private mechanic fix the car. Upon realizing that Ford had manufactured a faulty part I requested a refund for my repair bills. Ford has refused to recognize my claim, indicating that my warranty had expired. I belive this unsafe situation was directly a result of Ford Motor Company and the faulty head gasket placed into my car by Ford. The other components had to be replaced as a direct result of the failing head gasket. I wish to be included in the growing number of consumers lodging complaints and concerns about this dangerous situation. Your assistance with dealing with Ford Motor Company would be appreciated, however I have little trust that they will fully acknowledge their responsibility in this matter. I would be happy to forward copies of my correspondance with Ford to your office if this might be of assistance. With sincere thanks for your interest and support in this matter, robert a. martinez.
