My husband and bought this junk about 4 years ago and had nothing but problems with it. I tell you one thing if Maryland had a used car lemon law this van would fall under that. Here are some of the things we have had problems with.
1. Door ajar
2. Gauge cluster fixed 3 time and took a month to get the van back
3. ABS fixed 3 different times, with brakes completely going out while driving
4. Hood latch would not catch
5. Control arms keep breaking fixed 3 times
6. Mirror controls stopped working
7. PW window button stopped working
8. Rear air duct kept coming apart
9. Valve Gasket blew
I am sure there are some more things but I can not think of them at this time. I dont know if its just because its FORD or because we got the van from CARMAX and they did all the work. Needless to say this van has been a REAL PAIN IN THE ASS!!! To top it all off we can not get rid of the damn thing it haunts you like a plague!

This is really a pain in the ass, my wife gripes all the time about it. If the wd40 don't work wrap two rounds of black electrical tape on the hinge part on the body where the paint is worn off. If the tape wears off replace it again. The tape worked for me, put it on all the doors front, sliding and back.

Door ajar indicator stays on. That dinging is really annoying. It bugged the @#$% out of me for a month. After reading this site I found the solutioon. WD-40 sprayed on all the locking mechanisims.

This van has been a pain since day one. The interior lights failing to turn off at random is a major pain. Staying on while trying to back out of a parking space at night is dangerous. Dinging bell every time you stop at an intersection with the headlights on.... Arghhh! My web search has only frustrated me all the more since this idiotic problem is SOP for apparently a wide range of model years. The only saving grace in the whole deal is Ford's auto shutoff timer when interior lights are left on. Thankfully that hasn't failed. I firmly believe that some moron Ford engineer devised this as a solution to the issue... rather than fix the problem, time out the lights to prevent battery failure and no one will get too upset. Absolute genius eh?
