Windstar LX 3.2L V6

Was driving about nine miles when the temperature gauge suddenly went to HOT. Pulled over, tried to get a tow but could not as it was a busy holiday weekend. "Bunny hopped" home--drove about 3 miles after engine cooled down, temp went up, shut engine off and wait another 45 minutes for it to cool down. Very hot day, no other way to get home. Made it in one piece but had to pay for tow to repair shot.

Found not only cracked water pump but also fluids leaking all over. Absolutely no prior warnings that anything was wrong with vehicle.
