Windstar SEL V6

Last month, very suddenly and without any warning the battery went completely dead. I bought and installed a new one the next day. The voltage goes up when the car is running, indicating the alternator appears to be working to charge the battery. Initially, the starter turned the engine over very fast and starting was no problem.

However, after only two weeks with a new battery the battery was so weak it wouldn't turn the engine over. I had to use a battery charger which charged up the battery quickly. I thought maybe the terminals were not tightened enough so I tightened them.

But now, several weeks later, the starter only turns the engine over barely enough to start the engine. Luckily the engine starts very easily and runs well.

What is wrong here??

Started van up alternator light came on. Working in parts store so it was just as easy to replace the battery with the alternator. But the freakin light was still on and only charging 12.99-13.06 volts enough to run the van but not to charge the battery.

called the dealer we sell to they of course never had this issue before. hahhahaha.

well long story short got bored 1 day torn into wiring harness. just past intake manifold where harness branches off to a large plug and goes back to the pcm. the wire was cut/burned by another wire that seemed to have a outer hard wire core. almost like it was designed to cut/slash thru other wires. repaired wire relocated it as well all good till my trans went belly up
