After the the engine warms up it idles rough and then stalls after idling for 5 to 10 minutes. The engine light is on and the code I receive explains that the engine is running a lean mixture. I pulled the Intake air scoops off to look inside the engine and noticed a lot of oil residue on the air scoops and a lot of carbon or oil gunk build-up going down into the cylinders. I changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, PCV & EGR valves and it is still doing it.
My local ford Dealer said it would take $600 to $800 to repair. The repair they came up with was to replace the intake air scoop gasket. When removing the air scoop I didn't see any problem with the gasket itself nor did I see where it was allowing any bypass of debris from outside the engine. Personally I don't think Ford knows what's going on either and gave me a high estimate so they can start replacing parts until they find whats really failing or wrong. They have been wrong several other times on another vehicle I owned.
