First noted the interior lights flashing intermittently, as many people with this vehicle have noticed. This went away. Then the passenger side power window worked intermittently then quit altogether. The rear defogger stopped working. Then the keyless entry worked as it should, but the notification beep when you locked the car stopped working.
Dealer reported a wiring harness/connection at the firewall under the hood was corroded. Replaced for $85 parts, $60 labour (CAN) and all seem to be working fine again.
It seems quite possible that a corroded/shorting wiring harness or connector could be causing many of the aberrant electrical behaviours seen on the forums here. Good luck!
We have partnered with JustAnswer to offer online auto repair help and advice from expert professional automotive technicians. You describe your electrical problem or ask your question and they try to help you figure it out. The fee is typically $9 to $15, but you can offer to pay more for really tough questions. You will usually receive an answer in 10 minutes or less, and you do not have to pay anything unless you accept the answer.
