My GMC Acadia denali has a little over 80,000 miles. I have other vehicles for everyday use so I only drive the Acadia for long distances over the weekend. The vehicle sits in the garage when not in use. I have had no issues with the vehicle until I took it to the dealer to have one of the head light bulbs on the passenger side replaced. After I picked the vehicle up I drove it to New York and on my way back (the next day) had the service light come on to let me know there was a problem with the battery. I looked at the battery indicator in the dash and noticed the charge was getting lower and lower. By the time I got to baltimore, md the indicator was below 12 and the vehicle finally shut off. Towed the vehicle to the dealership and they first replaced the battery but that didn't fix the problem. They then replaced the alternator. I drove the vehicle three times and it worked fine. Three weeks later I tried to start the vehicle and had no battery power. Tried jumping the vehicle but it would not gather enough powere to start the engine. Had the vehicle towed to the dealer. They said that the new battery that was installed had a bad cell. I am afraid that's not the issue; it's obvious that something is draining the battery when the car is not in operation and it all started when I had the headlamp. I think GM is aware of electrical issues with the Acadia. I just want to make sure I put this complaint out there. I am not confident that this problem won't occur three weeks from now.

When driving or even after just sitting for a while without the controls on or off the back panel that controls the heat and air in the second row the knobs are extremely hot to the touch. I have children and grandchildren that sit in the second row daily and this has happened since purchasing the vehicle.

With the vehicle is stationary, I opened the power lift gate, it opened completely, and suddenly fee fell about 1 to 2 feet, stiking me and my 6 month old son in the head. I have repeated this operation multiple times standing clear of the lift gate and it continues to do the same thing everytime. It is not safe to access the cargo area of my vehicle until this is repaired. I called the GMC dealer in bunkie, la to see if it was covered under the 2012 GMC Acadia recalls for power lift gate malfunctioning, and they said it wasn't covered. I disagree.

Today with the fuel gauge showing 1/2 tank full, my Acadia ran out of gas and I was forced to the side of the road. I have seen recalls for other year models for this exact problem, but the year my Acadia is does not matter to GM. This is a very serious problem that could cause a severe accident. GM's recall number is 14007. In the affected vehicles, the engine control module (ECM) software may cause the fuel gauge to read inaccurately. An inaccurate fuel gauge may result in the vehicle unexpectedly running out of fuel and stalling, increasing the risk of a crash.they know there is a problem why not fix it.

After getting lift gate recall when opened all the way a loud pop would happen. Was told struts worn. Didn't do it before. As of 1 day ago lift gate will open little more than half way then just start closing on its own. It cannot be stopped. Before when it bumped something it would stop or open back up. Now there is no stopping it. If a child wear able to get between it when this happens it would kill them. I was parked trying to get something out of the back of the car.

Sunroof leak driving during rainstorm water began pouring in on the driver side from the parking brake. Caused moldy smell, park brake on/off indicator light and brake on warning alarm now not working. Advised by glass co. And dealership that sunroof is causing leak from clogged drain lines and faulty seals. No recalls or tsb's but hundreds of other owners have had the same issue from 2008-2013 models. Ntsb should demand that GMC address this faulty product. Problem re-occurred during car wash following rain storm. Vehicle has only 30,000 miles, original owner, now out of warranty. GMC will not cover repairs.

When we first purchased the vehicle the alternator went bad. The dealer replaced the alternator and battery for us. Then 6 months later the alternator went out again. They again replaced the alternator. Since then the vehicle has had a dead battery at least 4 times. Also noticed that when it rains you can hear water sloshing in the ac vents and then pours down from under dash on both the passenger and drivers side. Now my sound in the vehicle has started to cut on and off. This water issue is obviously leading to the electrical issues.

I have been having problems with my vehicle for a while now. The car will cut off in traffic I have gotten stuck in the seatbelt as well as today while I am trying to make a left the car would not accelerate as I was hitting the gas pedal I could have been killed. I have taken my vehicle to [xxx] on another occasion because I had just left the gas station filling the tank up I got in the truck pulled out of the gas station and the gas gauge started going up and down my overhead lights came on and the car just died out in 45 mph traffic I took it in and all they keep telling me is if they can't duplicate the problem they can not help me how is this safe number one number two I do not know when the vehicle is going to cut off. I have had the speedometer just go up and down as I'm driving as well as the radio would just start to shift from auxiliary to cd to radio without ever being touched. If I hit a pothole lights start flashing this is unacceptable. But I'm being told there is nothing that can be done because they can't replicate the problem how is this on my shoulders I'm paying for an extended warranty that is not worth the paper it's printed on. It has to be an electrical short or something they just do not want to repair. But I can not keep putting my families lives in danger driving this vehicle because they say they can not replicate the problem. This is dangerous and GMC will not help. The contact owns a 2012 GMC Acadia. While stopped at a traffic light, the driver seat moved and adjusted on its own when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The seat moved backwards and further away from the steering wheel. The contact stated that the seat slid and tilted. The failure recurred several times. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle made an unusually loud noise when the remote engine start feature was activated. The dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of the failures. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 10.
