The contact owns a 2005 GMC Sierra. The contact stated. The shift lever position indicator located in the instrument panel cluster would not illuminate. The contact was able to locate a recall for the failure (NHTSA campaign id number: 05V055000- power train: Manual transmission: Shift pattern indicator) however, the dealer advised that the contact's VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 150,000 and the current mileage was 175,000. Updated 10/26/10. Updated 10/26/10
