I put the vehicle in park, turned the ignition off, removed the key from the ignition and exited the vehicle. I got some items from my trunk and went about my business. I returned to my vehicle a few minutes later only to notice the lights were on and it was running. I was unable to unlock the vehicle using the key fob and had to manually unlock the door. I put the key in the ignition to turn the vehicle off again and it would not turn off. I wiggled the gear shift and it finally turned off. This is the third time this has happened. Please add my vehicle to the recall list before someone gets injured or before there is property damage.

09/08/18 I put the vehicle in park, turned the ignition off, removed the key from the ignition and exited the vehicle. I got some items from my trunk and went about my business. About 45 minutes later, I returned to my vehicle only to notice the lights were on and it was running. I was unable to unlock the vehicle using the key fob and had to manually unlock the door. I put the key in the ignition to turn the vehicle off again and it would not turn off. I wiggled the gear shift and it finally turned off. This is the second time this has happened. Please add my vehicle to the recall list as this is the exact issue that the other GMC Terrain 2012 are having.

I turned off the ignition to my 2012 GMC Terrain, removed the key and opened the trunk/hatch to retrieve some items. As I attempted to lock the vehicle I realized it was still running. I was unable to use the key fob to unlock the doors and had to open them manually. It took two attempts at inserting the key in to the ignition and turning it "off" before the vehicle actually turned off. This is an issue with this vehicle yet according to the dealership "not with my specific vehicle" and they won't even look at it with. Please include my specific vehicle in this recall that was made on 07/05/2016 stating "General Motors llc (GM) is recalling certain model year...as the electronic park lock lever may allow the ignition key to be removed without the transmission being in park. Also, certain...2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114 "theft protection and rollaway prevention." Please amend this recall to include my vehicle.

Check engine light keeps coming on and the code coming up is for the camshaft pistion. I had it replaces and when I run my ac for more than an hour in park, the check engine light will come on and the truck will die, or the truck will die and the check engine light will not come on. The truck is also making a loud rumbling nose.

2012 gms Terrain 4 cylinder flex fuel- camshaft code, cam sensors replaced, spitting and sputtering, stalled X3 and shut off, fuel consumption noted, loss of power. GMC dealership refused to perform diagnosis on my car due to my refusal to pay for ruling out the documented fuel leak recall/special coverage. My request was only to have fuel the issue looked at and ruled out, nothing further, to ensure this was not causing my problem. I reported my problems that are consistent with the noted fuel special coverage and turned away because I did not have $120 to pay if they found it was not the problem. Upon reading my issue correlates with numerous Terrain and equinox owners. I want in this action to get something done for people like myself.

When I first purchased this SUV, it was fine. Then two years into having this vehicle I had to keep putting oil into it. It turns out that this year car has an oil comsuption recall. However, I had to go in for a test, I almost ran out of oil within a week my car would stall on the highway, I was also rear ended because it would out of oil when it wasn't suppose to. In Dec 2017 I took the car in and got the car recall done which was no charge to me. However, two days after the recall was done my check engine light came on again. I took it back to the dealership which is cappellino Buick GMC in williamsville and they charged me the 119 to dianogsis the car and tell me that it was the catalytic converter. He told me that the catalytic converter was not covered enough though he states that they know that the engine consumption recall made the catalytic converter get clogged. I have changed my O2 sensor twice and I will probably have to change it again because once the catalytic converter goes, typically the O2 sensors go as well. If your car is consuming a lot of oil, blowing black smoke and it is a GMC Terrain (no matter the year), get it checked, honestly, I am not being overdramatic, it could be life or death. If you have kids and you have the car, go for a oil consumption test asap. My car stalled out on the highway, stop lights and stop signs, even when not completely stopped or performing a "rolling stop".

Vehicle check engine light came on at 50,000 miles, would not pass inspection. Computer did not show what problem was. Car would cut off in drive in idle. Car would shake. Mechanics put in new parts and battery for more than $1200. Still was not fixed. Mechanic went to a dealership to inquire if they had seen this problem. At the dealership it was discovered that many of the parts that would cause the problem were on recall. GM had not posted these recalls or notified me, the owner. After inspecting the car they said there was too much wrong to repair and the entire engine would need to be replaced. They said I would need to drive 2000 miles to check oil consumption. They never made us aware there may be problem with the oil consumption. I am 68 yrs old and walk with a walker. I am in the hospital often. The mechanics said they would drive the car as much as they thought necessary to determine oil consumption. While driving the vehicle in charlotte nc the car started smoking and caught fire. The driver forced his way out but had that been me, I probably would have died due to my handicap. I have now been without a vehicle for over a month. I have contacted GM but they are slow for any resolution. I asked for a loaner vehicle but was told they couldn't do that now.

While driving during heavy rain at 50 mph my windshield wipers stalled right in front of my view. The motor was obviously still functioning because I could hear it but wipers were not moving. Had to pull over to keep from being involved in accident due to obstructed view and rain on windshield...this needs to recalled!! safety issue and a hazard to both driver and other vehicles on road. Called both dealership and GMC directly whick both stated due to no set recall it would have to be on me to replace and pay out of pocket for diagnosis of vehicle and then reacement if needed! this 2012 Terrain only has 65,900 miles. They need to get it together before they end up sued for causing accidents or deaths!

I recently received a letter from GMC informing me that vehicles were built incorrectly, that the fuel composition sensor may be mounted below the frame, exposing the sensor and fuel lines to road debris, which may result in the fuel line emitting fuel odor, weeping, or leaking. In addition, the vehicle may experience engine stumble, loss of power and stall while driving. It did not provide a picture of the fuel composition sensor, nor did it provide information as to where it is located. I was told by the customer assistance center this was intentional. I am now fearful every time I drive the car, but this is my only means of transportation. I am highly concerned regarding not only the failure of the fuel composition sensor and fuel lines, but road debris, or an accident may puncture the fuel composition sensor and/or fuel lines, causing a possible fuel leak and potential fire. Add in the concern that the vehicle may unexpectedly lose power and/or stall, (my vehicle lost power on 12-13-13). I do not understand why an issue this dangerous did not result in GMC initiating a recall or field inspection of some sort to inspect all vehicles at no cost to the owners and make any necessary repairs in order to eliminate any risk of accident or injuries to the public. I have been advised by the customer assistance center that if I bring my vehicle to the dealer, the service department needs to perform a diagnosis. Once determined that the codes match the special coverage, the diagnosis will be waived and all repairs related to it will be free of charge.there will be an out of pocket expense for the diagnosis unless the condition described is met. Why does the vehicle need to be hooked up to a computer to find engine or other electrical issue codes" the letter states this is a part that may be mounted below the frame rail, so wouldn't this just require a visual inspection"

My complaint is in regards to tires. Specifically Michelin latitude tour. My Terrain is 5 years old with 27K miles on it, not exactly a lot of use. However I just found out that the tires on the vehicle, not the original tires are falling apart. The tread is separating from the tire body. And the tires are dry rotted. If you measure the tread depth, these are almost new tires. I am aghast that an expensive tire like these should just fall apart. Michelin has given me a run around. The tire tech at costco told me this was a common problem with this model tire. How in good conscience can a company like Michelin continue to sell a defective design" can anything be done to make the public safe"
