Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon. The contact noticed a leak under the hood of his vehicle. The manufacturer advised him to take the vehicle to a dealer and they stated that the hydro boost failed. The contact would have to pay $861 to repair the vehicle. The mechanic informed him that he could have run out of power steering and brake fluid, and the seal failed and was leaking. The failure could have caused a crash due to the loss of the fluids in the vehicle and the inability to brake. The brakes and the steering are one unit. A GMC representative stated that he would call the contact in 24 hours to discuss whether or not they will pay for the parts or a portion of the repairs. The current mileage was 48,498 and failure mileage was 48,448.
