Civic LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,000 miles

The transmission on my 1998 Honda Civic LX completely died and I had it replaced AGAIN, SO NOW THIS IS THE THIRD TRANIE IN THE CAR, AND IT ONLY HAS APROX 114,000 MILES!!.
LAST time that the transmission was replaced under extended warranty (thank you, Lord) at the local HONDA dealership, THE CAR ONLY HAD 59,000 miles and they
put in a rebuilt/reconditioned one/it was not brand new) ....
WHAT IN THE *&&^%$&*(_+*~ IS GOING ON?
I must admit that this is the first time my car "made me walk" (words the tow truck
driver used) BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS !!
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HONDA REPUTATION?
WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?

Civic LX V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,000 miles

Being the only owner of my Honda Civic LX 2001, thought I wouldn't need to ever use my extended warranty. BUT {always a but} how wrong was I? The other day my car started jerking and I knew it was the transmission. Went to the dealer and they said get a transmission flush done. Did that $100 {out of pocket}. Worked strictly OK for a day. Was driving on the highway... engine would rev up .. car stopped moving. Took it to the dealer and they said transmission was bad and needed to be replaced. Dealer mentioned Honda didn't have original transmission for the Honda but they put a re-built transmission in. Luckily extended warranty covered everything, otherwise would have cost me $3000+. CRAZY!!
Just wanted to vent my thoughts since people are having issues for sure with Honda Civic.
