CarComplaints.com Notes: Haven't we all owned one of these things at some point? Despite being a popular first car for teenage drivers and, as a result, being beat up like no other, the late 90's Civic is a true endurance car. And it still gets better gas mileage than more modern cars.

The horn doesnt work. THe buttons on the steering wheel fell off. Cruise control doesnt work.I have a bad caddy converter. Bad muffler. Major oil leak. The hood stick that holds the hood up.That broke into 2 pieces for no reason.Idle control sensor just went in 2010. Along with throttle body cover. The car had 40k miles when I bought it for 9000k bucks Ive had the car since 2004. Since then Ive done all oil changes ontime. I cant afford to fix these major issues. It has had the front and back bearings done every year and a half since 2007. So thats about 3 times. The tie-rod once. (The front end). I just put 4 new tires on it Nov.2011. It Just had a paint job in dec. 2011.Cuz it the clear coat blister and flaked off all over it, I did the 02 sensor in 2010 and 2011 (The top one) THe distributer cap and roter was replaced that went out. in 2011. THe a/c costed 1100 bucks in feb 2011 It was out for 3 summers in floridas heat.I replaced the timing belt twice since Ive had it once in 05. and in 2010. THe trunk leaks water. The back doors wont open, the power windows wont go up and down sometimes.ALL FOUR. And I do ontime maintance as far as allignments, tranny flush, oil changes. And Im still driving a lemon. In 2011 alone Ive put about 3grand into it cuz it was just one thing after another. It now has 185k miles. I wonder whats next. It sounds like a rice burner right now. I dont think I forgot to add anything.
