Vehicle failed state inspection due to power steering rod seals leaking. Replacing the rod was no more expensive than replacing the seals. Shop replaced the rod. $400 for a new rod, $1200 in labor. The entire front end of the vehicle has to come off to access the rod. Probably should have tried doing it myself....
