We are in Arizona and it isn't uncommon to drive in shoes, sandals or "flip flops." My Wife & I have both experienced a lag in acceleration in turning left or right from a dead stop. This is disconcertoning, esp in the bad traffic of Phoenix! I researched the manual and found that the feature can be turned "Off" but the manufacturer highly suggests it be left "On." If you punch the accelerator at an interseciton to make a turn and the engine "dies" there is a potential for a rear end accident.
